18.7mi, ca 7500'. Mountains: Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Washington, Monroe, (2 Jul) Eisenhower. Route: Pine Link -> Howker Ridge -> Star Lake -> Gulfside -> Crawford Path -> Edmands Path. The weather really changed during the day (as forecast): it was beautiful in the morning, but the wind at midday was strong enough that I had to use my poles to avoid being blown over. There was also rain, thunder and lightning. We stopped hiking at Lake of the Clouds Hut and slept there for the night, due to weather concerns; I now bring a space blanket, which may help avoid discomfort in situations like this. Edmands Path is a very tame path. Edited: Dave points out that we actually did complete in a 24 hour interval, although usually traverses include Pierce.
